This bread was originally brought to Hawaii by Portuguese immigrants from Madeira. Portuguese Sweet Bread is now considered a quintessential dish in Hawaiian cuisine. Put a slice of this bread in your toaster, spread on some soft butter and you will see why this bread is so loved. This class is for the patient bread baker - it will take us about 7 hours from start to finish, but it will be so worth it.
