I hope this is the first of many posts on my website. I’ve thought of writing something since it went live, but I just could not figure out where to start. I think I have the answer to that question now.
Let me explain why I launched my website up in the first place. Baking has provided me with endless joy since I started doing it. As a child I grew up in a house that was shared with my grandmother. She was from Europe and one of her many talents was that she was a fabulous baker. Over the years that we were together, she shared her wonderful baked goods with our family. Unfortunately, when she passed away, we no longer had them. As I think it happens with so many of our grandparents, all of her recipes and knowledge are now with her in heaven.
Later in life we visited my wife’s brother and his family. That was when I was introduced to Phyllis, my sister-in-law. It was during that visit that I was reintroduced to freshly baked bread. On the long drive home from that visit, I told my wife that I needed to learn how to bake fresh bread. That was back in 1972, and that was when it started.
I can only hope that my website helps to wake up the baker that is inside of you, so that you can experience the joys and memories that I’ve had over all of these years. In the beginning, the joy of baking was personal to me and my family, and the few people that shared my baked goods with us. Then, in 2013, I started teaching baking as a hobby, which has now turned into a little business. It gives me the opportunity to share my passion with more people and on a more frequent basis.
Well, this was a lot easier to write than I thought it would be. I hope that you’ll join me on this journey and that it leads to endless enjoyment for you as well.
