So what are wheat berries?
Wheat berries are the seeds that are harvested from the wheat grass grown by modern day farmers. When it is time to harvest the wheat, the farmer uses a piece of equipment that cuts the wheat grass and then shakes out the seeds that are contained in a spike that is growing on top of each piece of grass. These seeds are called wheat berries. The wheat berries are then sent to the miller who processes the wheat berries producing many different types of wheat flour.
So do you want to know something that might blow your mind? If the farmers did not send the wheat berries off to the miller to make flour, they could actually plant the wheat berry and grow more wheat. Does that sound a little crazy? Well wheat is a grass and grasses grow spikes on the end of the blades and the spikes contain seeds that when planted germinate into new grasses. When a grass goes to seed, which is what the process is called, it could be considered the end of a cycle or the start of a new one. You plant a seed and it grows into something. A grass, a plant, a bush, a tree, and that item can contain the seeds that produces a new something and hopefully life goes on.
