Day 1 of Kolaches with Bill the Baker

What the heck is a kolache you ask?  It is a delicious sweet pastry that was brought to this country, Texas to be exact, back in the 1800's by Czech immigrants.  It is considered by some to be the little brother to a Danish.  If you ever met my Czech grandmother when she was alive, she would never let you get away with calling it that.  It was no little brother to anything as far as she was concerned.  It can be made with a cheese or fruit filling.  In my home it was filled with poppy seed and it was one of my favorite desserts.  Come to this two day class and learn why it is still a favorite dessert all over the state of Texas.

This class is a 2 day event. You only need to purchase a ticket for the day 1 portion of the class. That ticket will get you into both classes. On day 1 we will meet briefly to mix the dough. Then the dough goes into the refrigerator for an overnight fermentation. On day 2 we will meet again to shape and bake the pastries.
