Bill the Baker

For almost 50 years, Bill has been baking bread and pastries. Although most of his professional career was spent in many different facets of the technology industry, his passion has always been baking. In recent years, Bill discovered that he loves to teach people and wants to share his passion with them. He enjoys that the same four simple ingredients of flour, salt, yeast and water can produce an endless variety of options.

Prior to March 2020, Bill taught in-person classes at various locations around the St. Charles, Illinois area, outside of Chicago. When the pandemic hit, he started teaching classes online as a way to pay it forward, and had students attend from across the U.S.

Today, Bill now offers virtual baking classes for adults and children in the Zoom environment. One of the pleasant discoveries is that classes seem to be much more beneficial for the students when they’re in their own kitchen using their own equipment and oven.
